Good morning. It's Monday, the 3rd of August. Welcome to A Moment To Pause.Today's Gospel is taken from Matthew chapter 14, verses 22 to 36.Immediately after miraculously feeding the 5000. Jesus dismisses the crowd and sends his disciples across the sea to rest. He gives us moments. Moments of rest and refreshmentto strengthen us for the journey of faith. For the journey we are to make.Jesus then goes up the mountain to pray, giving us again an example of how to pray.Let us now pause for a moment and think about how we pray.Let God speak to our hearts to give us the gift of serenity whilst we pray. Amen.

Good morning and welcome to our moment to pause with the oblate Family.
When Jesus asked his followers to feed the crowd, they said they couldn’t because all they had to offer him was little bread and fish. But he took the smalls bits of bread and fish, blest them and shared them out and everyone had more than enough to eat.  What can I offer the Lord today? No matter how small I think it is, it will be accepted, blessed and multiplied in ways I can’t begin to imagine. What are my gifts and talents that I can offer the Lord today?
We offer our own intentions to the Lord as we pray:
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.Thy kingdom come.Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us,and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Thank you for joining the Oblate Family for our moment to pause this morning: May God continue to walk with each of us this day.

Good morning and welcome to our moment to pause with the oblate Family…
John the Baptist died because as God’s messenger and prophet, he was not afraid to speak up and speak out when he saw injustice and wrongdoing. Filled with God’s Spirit, he had the courage of his convictions. May the faith I believe with my heart and profess with my lips, be seen in the quality my daily life, actions and speech today.
We offer our own intentions today to the Lord as we pray:
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.Thy kingdom come.Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us,and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

When Jesus appeared as the carpenter’s son, he was not what some people expected, nor liked, so they rejected him and walked away from. Often God is right in front us, hidden but very present. God is with us in small seemingly insignificant ways and in the people around us, who we will meet today, if only we really look. Today, Let us open our eyes and see Christ the carpenter in ordinary ways today.
We offer our own intentions today to the Lord as we pray

Jesus reminds us that the Kingdom of God is like a net with a huge variety of fish. The same might be said of the church. It is made up of all sorts of people, with different, ideas and opinions. Can we listen to and accept each other, especially those who ideas are different than ours? Can we work together? Can we find a way together to build and promote God’s Kingdom for the good of all, and not just ourselves?
We offer Go our own intentions today to the Lord as we pray

Good morning and welcome to our moment to pause with the oblate Family..
While grieving her brothers Lazarus; death, Jesus asks Martha if she believes in him;         I am the Resurrection and the life; do you believe this? He is with her, and even in her grief and sadness Jesus offers her hope when she needs it the most. He looks at each of us right now and asks us the very same question this morning. What is our response? Today, may we turn to Jesus when we are worried, troubled or anxious.
We offer our own intentions today to the Lord as we pray

Good morning and welcome to our moment to pause with the Oblate Family…
In the gospel today, Jesus explains the parable of the Sower and the weeds. The crops and the weeds are allowed to grow together, only when they are ripe will they both be harvested. Perhaps inour own lives there are ‘weeds’ that we want to be rid of immediately. Maybe this gospel, Jesus is asking us to be patient both with Him and ourselves. Following Jesus is about slow prayerful progress, one step, one day at a time, not perfection.
We offer our own intentions today to the Lord as we pray
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.Thy kingdom come.Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us,and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Good morning and welcome to our moment to pause with the Oblate Family…
In the Gospel today, Jesus tells us that the kingdom of God is like the small mustard seed that when it grows becomes the biggest of trees. With God’s help, wonderous things come from humble beginnings. This applies to us as well. All our small acts of kindness, compassion, generosity and forgiveness are important and are needed if the Kingdom of God is to grow for ourselves and those around us.

Welcome to A Moment to Pause. We join Fr Eduardo in the Tower Hill Mission, London.
Wherever this moment finds you, between meetings or on your commute, or visiting friends or family members, or simply taking a break in the middle of this busy day, welcome. Let these next few moments and be a space to rest, to listen, and to be reminded that God is already near. In today's gospel, Jesus compares the kingdom of heaven to a treasure hidden in a field and to a pearl of great value. When someone discovers it, everything else is seen differently. Not because the world has changed, but because our hearts have changed. The kingdom of God is discovered in quiet places, in the person who forgives instead of holding on to resentment, in the courage to choose what is right when no one is watching. In the friend who truly listens, in the few minutes we give to prayer before the world demands our attention.
These moments may seem small, but they are pearls of infinite value.
Perhaps today's invitation is not to search harder, but to notice more deeply. The treasure you long for may already be hidden within the ordinary moments of your life, waiting for your heart to recognise it. We pray. Lord, open my eyes to the treasure of your presence. Amen.
Thanks for joining us this morning!

Welcome to A Moment to Pause. We join Fr Eduardo in the Tower Hill Mission, London.
Take a moment to slow your breathing wherever you are in the office, on the train, walking through the city, or simply between tasks. Allow yourself these next few moments to rest in God's presence. Today's gospel is from Matthew to speaks about a sower who scatters seed. The say the seed is always good. It is generous, full of life, full of promise. The question is not whether God still speaks, the question is whether our hearts have a space to listen.
There are seasons when life leaves our heart hard with disappointment, crowded, with no worries or distractions. Yet God never stops sowing. He never gives up on us. Patiently, quietly. He keeps planting hope, mercy and new beginnings. Perhaps today, the invitation is simply this: Let one word of God remain with you. Not too many words. Just one.
Let it settle gently into your heart. Like a seed beneath the soil. Hidden at first almost unnoticed, but slowly transforms everything from within. Let us pray. Lord, soften the ground of my heart.
In the silence. Help me to hear your voice. Amen. Thank you for sharing this moment to pause. May the Lord bless your day nd may his word may continue to grow within you.
