Good morning and welcome to the Oblate Family morning reflection - Our Moment to Pause. This week we hear from Mary Tyrrell from Birkenhead, England.Welcome to a moment to pause with the Oblate family. The disciples were totally in awe of and applauded the wonderful things Jesus was doing for people in today’s passage from Luke chap 9:43b-45. Jesus, however, dampens the mood when he announces that he will soon be betrayed. The disciples couldn’t understand why anyone would want to betray Jesus when he was doing so much good.Even now people still experience betrayals when their reputations or lives are destroyed by the words or actions of someone they trusted. Some, even, have their lives shortened or they are actually killed because of the malice of people just like Jesus was. It’s funny people don’t seem to change despite all the sophistication of the modern world. Maybe you have been betrayed by a friend or a colleague and your life as it was destroyed. Jesus knows how you feel. Or maybe you were the betrayer why not reflect on your actions, seek forgiveness from God and the one you destroyed. Today let us pray for those who hurt us and for those we have hurt. We pray: Lord have mercy on usChrist have mercy on usLord have mercy on us. Thank you for joining us on this moment to pause. Be kind and thoughtful to yourself and others today.

Good morning and welcome to the Oblate Family morning reflection - Our Moment to Pause. This week we hear from Mary Tyrrell from Birkenhead, England.Welcome again to a moment to pause with the Oblate family. Jesus asks a vital question in Luke 9:18-22.There’s nothing quite like being asked a straight question which demands an equally straight answer. Who do you say I am ?asked Jesus. Many of those who heard him speak and saw his wonderful works were still unsure. This uncertainty might have been caused by confusion, the need to know more before making a commitment, hesitancy, not wanting to seem foolish or maybe just fear. But,Peter, don’t you just love Peter, was immediate in his answer. ‘You are the Christ of God’.How could he, a simple fisherman, get it so right when others much better educated than he got it so wrong? The answer has to be Peter was inspired by God which Jesus acknowledged.Peter knew Jesus,he had spent time with him, he knew what Jesus had done for him, he prayed and read the Scriptures. Surely we need to do the same to answer that question today,’Who do you say I am’ when so many do not know how to answer for the same old reasons. Today we pray for an increase of faith in the world. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end Amen. God’s blessings be showered on you today.

Good morning and welcome to the Oblate Family morning reflection - Our Moment to Pause. This week we hear from Mary Tyrrell from Birkenhead, England.Hello, welcome to a moment to pause with the Oblate family. Today is celebrated as the feast day of Our Lady of Walsingham and is observed in both the Anglican and Catholic traditions. It was originally a medieval shrine but, it was later in the Middle Ages that Walsingham grew into England's most significant pilgrimage destination.Pilgrims travelled from England,Europe and beyond. The vision of the Virgin Mary to a noble woman is one of the earliest Marian visions in England and was central to the establishment of Walsingham as a pilgrimage site. In her vision the noble woman was instructed to build in her village an exact replica of the house in which the Annunciation had taken place. This is the link to the Gospel today. The original house was destroyed by the Reformation but restored in 1897 It became the English national shrine in 1943. The shrine was raised to the status of a minor basilica by Pope Francis in 2015150,00 people visit the chapel every year. Now we pray for people we know who are setting offor returning from Marian pilgrimages. Our Lady of Walsingham Pray for us Our Lady of Lourdes pray for us. Have a blessed day what ever you are doing.

Good morning and welcome to the Oblate Family morning reflection - Our Moment to Pause. This week we hear from Mary Tyrrell from Birkenhead, England.Welcome again to a moment to pause with the Oblate family. This passage from Luke chapter 9: 1-6 could be seen as the beginning of the Church. The work of making the Kingdom of God a reality. God’s mission being done on earth from that day onwards by ordinary men and women. Jesus sent his twelve disciples to preach the kingdom of God, perform healing miracles, relying only on God’s providence . It is the same mission which has been passed to us. We have been entrusted both, individually and in community, to proclaim the gospel by our actions, our words and lifestyle. Of course, we’ll will all have a different way of fulfilling this mission because of life’s limitations and circumstances. But do it we must. Jesus trusted his disciples on their own and he trusts you and I, too. Image that, Jesus trusting you and me to be his disciples and to make God’s kingdom a reality on earth!!!Just ponder on that today. It’ll take more than a moment. We ask Mary, a lady who was the first person to say, yes, to help us. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.Thank you for join ing us today. Enjoy all of God’s blessings.

Good morning and welcome to the Oblate Family morning reflection - Our Moment to Pause. This week we hear from Mary Tyrrell from Birkenhead, England.Welcome again to a moment to pause with the Oblate family. In today’s reading from Luke 8:19-21 we are reminded that there are many ways we can become family not just because we share the same parents. There are so many ways of being a family. Many of us even develop and share such close bonds with colleagues, neighbours or friends that they become as close, if not closer, than our own family. In today’s passage Jesus tells us we are indeed a family by hearing and acting on God's word. We become a spiritual family bound together by our relationship with God. Look around your church, your neighbourhood and the world. How does it feel to have such a huge family? Don’t worry you don’t have to send them all a birthday card!!!Let’s pray for our spiritual family as we say our family prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.Thy kingdom come. They will be done on earth as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. AmenThank you for joining us have a good day.

Good morning and welcome to the Oblate Family morning reflection - Our Moment to Pause. This week we hear from Mary Tyrrell from Birkenhead, England.Welcome to A moment To Pause with the Oblate family. There’s a famous painting by Caravaggio showing St Matthew, the tax collector, being beckoned by Jesus to come and follow him as depicted in today’s reading from Luke 9:9-13. The poor fellow looks as surprised as any of his fellow tax collectors who were, after all, a group of people who had deservedly earned a reputation for dishonesty. This is a significant passage as it highlights that the invitation of Jesus is for everyone. It demonstrates the mercy of God in a practical way showing us it’s more important to emphasis compassion than adherence to religious rituals and social norms. Let us pray for those who are excluded from community. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen. Thank you for joining us today. Have a good day.

In the name of the father, and of the son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Good morning. Welcome to the Oblate Family Morning prayer - our moment to pause. The gospel this morning is taken from Saint Matthew chapter 20, verses 1 to 16.In our gospel this morning. Saint Matthew tells us that Jesus told the story of some workers who were hired to work in the vineyard.A fair wage for a day's work. The landowner made an agreement with each of the workers at various times of the day.We all know that getting the harvest in on time is important. So with the. In this case, there was a need for extra workers at various times of the day to get the harvest in. The landowner agreed in advance with each of the workers what they would be due for their labour. The sting in the tail is that when it came to paying the workers their agreed wage, everyone got the same. No matter how long or how many hours they worked in the field.
Fairness in our lives? Yes.
But fairness in Jesus’ eyes is something different. Some of the workers made judgments
where God's judgment is in a different league to our human reality.Let us pray that we may be reliable workers, that we may all hope in the harvest.
And so we pray. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Good morning. I'm thank you for joining us on this Sunday morning. Have a good and safe day.

Good morning and welcome to the Oblate Family morning reflection - Our Moment to Pause. This week we hear from Bobby Neal from Inchicore, Dublin.
In the name of the father, and of the son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Good morning. Welcome to the Oblate family morning prayer - Our Moment to Pause. The gospel is taken from Saint Luke chapter eight, verses 4 to 15. Saint James tells us that as Jesus continued to teach, he tells us the story of the parable about the sower.Jesus is being followed by a large crowd. They, just like us today, are searching for the word, searching for the purpose. The seed is the message we want to hear. The four seeds fall on the edge of the plot and never get a chance because they are trampled on.The seeds that fell on the rocky area - I suppose it's fair to say the first impression of the message sounded okay, but some people were not interested and moved on.Similarly, the seeds that fell on thorns can be compared to people listening to the word but have other more important things to do, just worried about themselves. So they moved on.The seed that fell on good ground took root and grew. These were the people who listen to the word and go one step forward and act on it. They believe the word and move on, sharing it with others who in some cases are less well off than ourselves.Sharing our time. Giving our time to look after someone.
This is the seed people are looking for. Glory be to the father and to the son and the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be. Worlds where I stand. Amen.
Good morning, and thank you for joining us.

Our gospel this morning is taken from Saint Luke chapter eight, verses 1 to 3.Saint Luke tells us that as Jesus continued to make his way through the towns and countryside, teaching and proclaiming the good news.
So along with him, were the 12 disciples and several women, including Jesus mother Mary Magdalene, Magdalena, these women.Just some of the people who journeyed with Jesus during his public ministry that this morning at Lourdes we come and ask the intercession of one of those women.
We come in faith and ask the Mother of Jesus to present our lives, our prayers to her Divine Son.
We come in confidence that Mary will intercede on our behalf. She was the mother of Jesus.
She is our mother. And so we pray.
Hail Mary, full of grace,Blessed art thou among women, and blessedis the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners nowand at the hour of our death. Amen.
Thank you for joining us this morning.

Good morning and welcome to the Oblate Family morning reflection - Our Moment to Pause. This week we hear from Bobby Neal from Inchicore, Dublin.
In the name of the father, and of the son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Good morning and welcome to the Oblate Family morning prayer - our moment to pause. Our gospel this morning is taken from Saint Luke chapter seven, verses 36 to 50.
Saint Luke tells us the story of a Pharisee who invited Jesus to his house for a meal.
The Jews and the Pharisees did not get on. This passage tells the story of a woman who was a sinner. Yes, who was a sinner. She was crying and washed Jesus feet with her tears, dried them with her hair. She then anointed Jesus feet with a jar of expensive ointment.
As this woman had a bad name and the town, the host approached Jesus, thinking that he would be aware of this woman. Now the host approaches Jesus and tells him. The host is put in his place as Jesus explains that the woman's actions was something the host should have taken care of when he entered his house.
It's fair to say that actions speak louder than words.
Our actions are important in conjunction with our faith,
To believe and follow our heart is not always easy. So this morning, we come to pray to Mary and ask her for her intercession. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
Amen. Thank you for joining us this morning. I hope you all have a safe day.
