Good morning and welcome to our moment to pause with the Oblate family…
Every person on earth has roots and God saw it fitting that in order for Jesus to be accepted into this world, he had to come in a human form, so likewise though it is a miracle how he came into this world, we can trace Jesus’s ancestry and his conception. One may ask why? The answer lies on his nature which is both divine and human. This shows that we follow a capable God who can do anything who in human form understands our situations. Jesus is not far he is close to us.
We offer our intentions today to the Lord as we pray
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.Thy kingdom come, thy will be doneon earth as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,as we forgive those who trespass against us.And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.Amen.Thank you for joining the Oblate family for a moment to pause this morning. May God continue to work with each of us this day.

Good morning and welcome to our moment to pause with the Oblate family…
When everyone is listening to Jesus teaching, in the crowd there was a man with withered hand, which made the Scribe and Pharisees question Jesus’s action of curing the man on sabbath, with the hope of finding something to use against Him. Knowing their thoughts Jesus gives a question which is something to consider, something which make us today realise the importance of life which is God’s gift to us: Is it against the law on the sabbath to save life?
We offer our intentions today to the Lord as we pray Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.Thy kingdom come, thy will be doneon earth as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,as we forgive those who trespass against us.And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.Amen.Thank you for joining the Oblate family for a moment to pause this morning. Bore da! Welcome to our Morning podcast.Welcome to our morning reflection. We begin- In the name of the father, of the son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. The glacier collapsing triggered flash floods in Nepal is the headline news as we stepped into the creation times. This is an awake up call to understand that our planet earth is fragile and vulnerable. The extreme weather events caused by human activity point to the fact that we have failed to care for the creation. Today’s Gospel taken from Matthew, chapter 18 verses 25 to 30 invites us to reconcile with our brothers and sisters and to take every measure to do that. On this First Sunday of the Season of Creation, let us pause … to examine our relationship with the creation.Have we cared for the creation enough? Just reflect. Laudato si number 8 invites us to acknowledge our Ecological sins and repent for the damage. Let us make reparation. Let us act today. The Earth is our common home, this is our planet and we need to save it because we do not have planet B. In the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.#mission #prayer #christ #creation

Boreda. Welcome to our Morning podcast.Let us take a moment of silence to place ourselves in the holy presence of the Lord.We praise God because we are alive. We begin, In the name of the father, of the son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.In the Gospel taken from Luke chapter six verses one to six, the Pharisees charge Jesus and his disciples with breaking the Sabbath: but Jesus retorts by reminding them that the Son of Man is the master of the Sabbath. It means he is part of the origination of the Sabbath. God made the Sabbath. It is a day of rest. Sir Walter Scott, the Scottish poet and novelist said to enjoy leisure, it is necessary it should be preceded by occupation.I am certain that most of us had some time of rest and leisure in the past weeks. The rest refreshes our bodies and souls. We pray, The Lord of the Sabbath, Help us to commence our duties with vigour and newness. That we may put our hearts and souls into the work entrusted to us as we return to work after our summer break. Help us work for your glory and to make your name known in the world. AmenIn the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit. AmenHave a pleasant weekend.#mission #prayer #christ #creation

Today’s gospel taken from Luke Chapter 5 verses 33 to 39 is about fasting and feasting. Jesus explains that his disciples do not fast, like some people were doing. Nevertheless, they will fast when he is no longer with them.In the Gospel Jesus likened the Christian life to a wedding feast. Joy is a primary Christian characteristic. At the same time, Jesus knew there would come a day when the bridegroom would be taken away. He was not caught unawares by death. Ahead he saw the cross. However, even on the way to the cross he knew the joy that no one could take away. Because it is the joy of the presence of God. Emphasizing on the importance of Joy Pope Francis reminded us that Christians should radiate the joy of the gospel rather than weary gloomy expressions that make them look like they just came from a funeral. Let us take some baby steps today to remain joyful and radiate joy with our brother and sisters.Thank you for joining us.Have a joyful day.

Today’s gospel taken from Luke chapter five verses 1-11 tells us how Jesus called his first four disciples. I was reminded of the ‘Galilee Song’ – ‘Deep within my heart I feel’. Jesus asked Peter to launch into the deep. He listened to him, there was a great catch and the disciples followed him. It is evident that the good part of the ministry of Jesus took place in and around the Sea of Galilee. The sea is a huge symbol of creation.Sir David says, ‘After almost 100 years on the planet, I now understand the most important place on earth is not Land but at sea’.I invite you today go to the sea if the sea is around your corner and listen to the breaking of waters. Just look at the vastness of the ocean and enjoy its beauty. Just say a prayer for the seafarers and fishers. The Lord of the sea and the creator God we bring into our prayer all the seafarers and fishers who work day and night. That they may experience your comfort and strength in the challenging situations of their career. Amen.In the name of the father, of the son, and of the Holy spirit Amen.Thank you for joining us.

What is your day like?Today’s Gospel taken from Luke: chapter 4 verses 38 to 44 offers an insight into a day of Jesus. Jesus went about teaching, healing and meeting people. Moreover, his day was replete with actions. However, we are told that when day light came he left the house and made his way to a lonely place. What is obvious is that Jesus was able to meet the insistent needs of others only because he first made time to be with God. What about us? Most of us are busy bodies. Like Jesus at some point of this day, we are invited to leave our house for a while and go to a lonely place to be with nature. In our communion with God’s creation, we are able to see its creator. During this season of creation, we are reminded that we need to live a life close to nature. The words of the psalmist illustrate this truth in the following line. ‘The heavens proclaim the glory of God and the skies proclaim the work of His hands’.In the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Have a good day and may God bless you all.

Good Morning and Welcome to our reflection on the World Day of pPayer for the Care of Creation. We mark the season of creation at a time where heatwaves, wildfires, drought and earthquakes have become the order of the day.In our gospel from Luke 4:31-37, Jesus is portrayed as the teacher and we are told that his teaching made a deep impression on people because he spoke with authority. Today we look at the church as our teacher.Laudato Si is the teaching document of the church on creation that made a deep impression on our lives. Ask ourselves are we doing enough to care for the creation? This year’s theme is ‘living waters’.What are the baby steps that we can take today to preserve water...?Bear in mind the phrase ‘no water, no life’. We ask the Lord’s grace that we may embrace this sacred time mindfully. In the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen Have a good day and may God bless you all.

Good morning, and welcome to our time of reflection with the oblate family.
‘He has sent me to preach the good news to the poor’ this line from today’s gospel reminds me of the foundational motto of the oblate family which motivated our beloved founder to start the congregation. Today we begin Luke’s account of Jesus ’public ministry. He chooses a messianic prophesy in Isaiah and claims that the text is about him.
As Jesus finds his mission in Isaiah we are invited to discover our mission in the wider oblate world through reading of scriptures.it is also worth reflecting on the line of St John Henry Newman, ‘ God has created me to do some definite service. He has committed some work to me which he has not committed to another…’
Thank you for joining us to pray and may God be with us as we continue His mission in a variety of ways in our given situations of life.

A very good morning to you. We join Kirk Jacob in London for this week's podcast and short time of daily prayer together.
Today is Sunday, the 30th August and we focus on the 22nd Sunday in Ordinary time of the Church’s year. This morning’s Oblate podcast is on the Scripture text of St. Matthew 16: 21-27.We begin: In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.Today’s Gospel is all about dying of the self and the ego and living for the soulful state in order to bring about the Kingdom of God here on earth. Jesus tries to prepare his disciples for his imminent suffering and death at the hands of the religious elders and chief priests, though his disciples are in denial. They won’t have it that way! Peter even rebukes Jesus for saying and thinking that his ending is ever going to happen that way. Jesus puts Peter right back in his place with explaining that God’s ways are not man’s ways!If we try to save our lives, we lose it and if we lose our lives, we save it.! Perhaps, we may cast our minds and think of those self-sacrificing people today – the fire fighters who are trying to stop wild fires happening over Europe and some of them have sadly lost their lives in order to protect the country and the wild fires from spreading even further to destroy homes and livestock and human beings.Lord, teach us to die to ourselves and to live for You. We make our prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.Have a wonderful Sunday! Thank you. God bless you all.
